HISTORY

IMG_1459.JPG

Viña Caminomar is a winemaking project of the Larraín Duque family, founded in 2009 with the goal of producing 100% natural, handmade wines for national and international wine tourism. Our wines are characterized by their floral aroma and ripe black fruit flavor, which have three main attributes that make them unique and difficult to replicate:

• A balanced mix of vine strains

• Small organic and sustainable productions or ecological agriculture.

• A privileged location in the Santa Ana terroir, Colchagua Valley.

Today we have 1.9 hectares planted and a winery with a production capacity of 5,000 liters per year.

HANDMADE NATURAL WINE

ABOUT
faire du vin

Handmade production process:

The grapes are harvested manually during the month of April and carefully selected before undergoing the manual destemming process. The different varieties are aged separately. Fermentation is carried out with the grape's own native yeasts and gentle treading three times a day. The total aging period is approximately 14 days. Once the aging period is complete, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels, most of which have been used for no more than one period. The aging process for Caminomar wines ends after 12 months. The blend is then made and bottled without any prior filtration. The wine rests in the bottle for approximately 12 months before being released onto the market.

Red wine is obtained from a blend of four grape varieties, with Malbec predominating, and to a lesser extent, Syrah , Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot.

Tasting Notes : Purple-red in color, with herbal notes, leather, and a hint of anise on the nose, and light toffee notes in the background. The palate is more sweet and concentrated with red fruits and herbal notes, while its sharp acidity further fills the mouth with a light note of brown pepper and leather. A well-structured wine with a very concentrated finish.

Pairing: Lean meats, pasta and mature cheeses.

Rose wine is basically a Tempranillo red wine with little maceration that comes from black grapes and its pink hue is relative to the maceration time, which in this case is three months and its color is purple or violet.

Tasting Notes : The primary flavor of this rosé wine is flowers, citrus and red fruits.

Pairing : This wine should be served at a temperature between 10 and 15 degrees, ideal to accompany various summer starters such as anchovy bruschetta and nicoise salads, hummus or prosciutto with melanzane.

Red wine obtained from a blend of four grape varieties, mainly Syrah and to a lesser extent Cabernet Franc and Malbec .

Tasting Notes: Clean, bright, purplish-red in color. On the nose, a steady glass reveals notes of blackcurrant-like red fruits, over notes of herbs and damp forest. When swirled, the red fruits predominate over a pleasant, well-integrated roasted coffee background. The palate is smooth with great acidity, and the red fruits reappear, such as fresh plums mixed with cherries, over a sweet, wild herbal background. Medium-bodied, with a pleasant structure and very rich acidity. The finish is medium-lingering.

Pairing : Lean meats, Grilled meats, Sautéed vegetables, Pastas and Mature cheeses.
